Sedona Gem and Jewelry Show

New Feng Shui Items

Our dear friend and stone dealer, Deidre will be back in town in March to present her latest finds from the Tucson Gem Show, the largest Gem Show in the world comprising of over 45 different specialty shows.  I met her while I was in Tucson in February and she was very busy running around from one show to the next to find the most unique, rare and  energetically powerful stones to bring to Sedona’s Gem and Jewelry Show.

For the rare stone collector, she found Strawberry Quartz Crystals from Mexico and Russia and Papagoite which are rich blue colored snowballs found within Quartz, a stone which is much more rare than Ajoite it’s turquoise colored cousin. Papagoite from Messina , South Africa is considered extinct and most of the specimens now available are from old collections.

For people seeking highly energetic stones, Deidre will bring rare Australian double terminated Crystals and record keepers with Smoky Quartz and Amethyst Phantoms as well as Himalyan Rainbow Quartz and Nirvana Quartz specimens. For our sphere collectors, Eudialyte, Charoite and Seraphinite from Russia will be among the many spheres that she will showcase. For Isha Jewelry fans, she will bring some new nomadic knotwork necklaces and bracelets set with Fire Opals, Larimar and Moonstone. She will also be bringing in a large selection of Daisy Ho’s platinum over sterling silver jewelry set with Kunzite, Aquamarine, Tanzanite, Strawberry Quartz, and much more.

For our Sedona SuperNova and Star Card Customers, we have a special Gem Show Pre-Sale on March 12th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Please join us early so that you can have first pick of all the treasures Deidre has brought in for our Gem Show.  We look forward to seeing you all at the show.

March Birthstone - Aquamarine

The most well known birthstone for March is Aquamarine, its name is derived from the Latin meaning “water of the sea” because of its color and clarity.

In ancient lore, Aquamarine was believed to be a treasure of mermaids, and it was once used as a talisman to bring good luck, fearlessness and protection to sailors.  Now it can be carried or worn to promote safe travel especially over the ocean.  Aquamarine is a deeply cleansing stone that can assist one in rapidly moving through transition and change; removing resistance and helping one overcome fear of the unknown.

According to the “Book of Stones,” Aquamarine helps one release old emotional baggage and helps one see where one is perpetuating negative patterns in relationships.  For the Year of the Tiger 2010, the water element is very much needed to help one to flourish in tough economic times and Aquamarine is definitely a stone that will bring in the cooling power of water.

Other gemstones that are considered March birthstones as well are Bloodstone, Jade and Blue Topaz.  For people born in the sign of Pisces, the stones that have an affinity for that sign are Aquamarine, Amethyst, Bloodstone, Blue Lace Agate, Fluorite, Jade, Pearl, Mother of Pearl and Turquoise.
